Drum gear coupling manufacturing process and wear failure
In fact,
drum gear coupling wear is a common defect, but in the process of operation because of the coupling parts between the inner and outer gear rings have a relative slide, so this is a basic cause of wear. We can keep up with the manufacturer to understand what are the reasons for wear of the drum gear coupling.
Other causes of wear of
drum gear coupling are:
1. Poor manufacturing process: the tooth profile error between the inner and outer gear rings of the coupling with good processing technology is small, and the rotating torque transmitted by the coupling can be evenly distributed on each tooth; The gear ring of the coupling with poor processing technology will be stressed unevenly, resulting in excessive force on individual teeth, resulting in wear and tear, and serious tooth breakage.
2. Poor lubrication effect: because the two rotating parts connected by the gear coupling move axially when rotating, the coupling must have good lubrication. Poor lubrication effect or loss of lubrication, will increase the friction between the coupling teeth, long-term operation leads to wear of the coupling.
3. Improper material application or surface heat treatment process: the tooth surface of the gear coupling is generally treated by quenching or nitriding to improve its surface hardness and increase its hardness. However, due to improper heat treatment process, it will lead to insufficient hardness of the inner and outer tooth surface of the coupling, and the difference between the inner and outer tooth contact surface, which will cause the wear of the coupling.
If the
drum gear coupling is found in the installation process of its drive shaft and driven shaft end face center deviation, then when the deviation is higher than the coupling parts allowed by the range of deviation, the main oil pump will be with the turbine rotor conical pendulum motion, resulting in the main oil pump bearing, thrust wear and even hydraulic control system load swing.
