There are two types of elastic couplings

There are two types of elastic couplings:
Spiral groove type: spiral groove type elastic coupling is divided into single spiral groove type and double spiral groove type. It has a continuous multi-ring long groove, this coupling has good elasticity and very little bearing load. It can withstand a variety of deviations and is most suitable for deviation correction and axial deviation, but the processing ability of eccentricity is relatively poor, because if the spiral groove bends in two different directions at the same time, there will be a lot of internal pressure, which will lead to premature coupling damage. Although long spiral groove couplings are prone to bending under various deviations, they have the same effect on coupling stiffness under torsional loads. Under torsional load, excessive rotation clearance will affect the accuracy of the coupling and weaken its overall performance. Applications: Because of its poor processing capacity, it is best suited for low torque applications, especially in connection encoders and other lighter instruments. Parallel slots: Parallel slots elastic couplings usually have 3-5 slots to cope with low torque rigidity. Parallel slots can shorten the length of slots without weakening their ability to withstand deviation correction. Short slots make the coupling torque-rigid and overlap, allowing it to withstand considerable torque.

Application Location:
This performance makes it suitable for light load applications. For example, the connection between the servo motor and the ball screw. However, with the increase of groove size, bearing capacity will increase, but in most cases, bearings can be effectively protected. Increasing size means increasing the ability to withstand eccentricity. The elastic coupling is composed of a number of sets of partitions (stainless steel sheets) staggered by bolts and two half couplings, and each set of partitions is composed of a number of overlapping pieces. The elastic deformation of the diaphragm compensates the relative displacement of the two connecting axes. It is a high performance metal elastic element winding coupling. No lubrication, compact structure, high elasticity, long service life, no rotation clearance, not affected by temperature and oil pollution. It has the characteristics of acid resistance, alkali resistance and corrosion resistance. Simple structure, easy to disassemble and assemble.
