Elastic pin gear couplings allow for large angular displacement
The elastic pin gear coupling uses parallel or spiral grooving system to adapt to various deviations and accurately transfer torque, usually with good performance, in many practical applications of stepping and servo systems, the integrated forming design makes the pin gear elastic coupling achieve zero gap transmission torque and no maintenance characteristics. Elastic pin gear couplings can withstand a variety of deviations, and are more suitable for correcting declination and axial deviation, but the ability to deal with eccentricity is poor, because the spiral groove is bent in two different directions at the same time, which will produce a lot of internal pressure, resulting in premature damage to the coupling. Long spiral groove couplings can be easily bent under various deviations, but in the case of torsion load, the rigidity of the coupling has the same effect, and excessive rotation clearance under torsion load will affect the accuracy of the coupling and weaken its overall performance.
By the same number of teeth of the inner ring and connected with the outer tooth flange half coupling, the outer teeth are divided into straight teeth and drum teeth, elastic pin gear coupling can allow a larger angular displacement, can improve the contact conditions of the teeth, improve the ability to transfer torque, extend the service life, when there is angular displacement, along the width of the contact state. The axial tooth blank of the outer gear sleeve of the elastic pin gear coupling can be processed into two kinds of straight line and circular arc, and the dividing circle and the root circle are straight lines. The meshing form of the coupling is the same as that of the involute cylindrical gear. The relative displacement between the two axes is compensated by increasing the lateral clearance of the internal and external teeth, but the compensation amount is limited. The elastic pin gear coupling has good compensation performance, and the outer gear sleeve has a drum shape, which increases the allowable relative deviation of the two connected axes. The rubber seal ring of the elastic pin gear coupling is aging, the sealing performance is bad, and the oil leakage reduces the transmission torque, which makes it difficult to start.
