What are the causes of cross shaft cardan shaft failure?
Cross shaft cardan is a connected device, before the use of it is necessary for us to have a certain understanding of it, only understand the relevant knowledge content can be used well, then what are the reasons for the failure of the cross shaft cardan?
What are the causes of cross shaft cardan shaft failure?
First, oblique impression
When the total circumferential clearance of bearings in the cross-shaft universal shaft is relatively large, the needle roller is prone to skew, resulting in a certain Angle of impression between the cross-shaft journal and the axis. Further stamping will make the needle roller unable to spin friction resistance increases. Therefore, the total circumference clearance of the bearing should be controlled within the range of 0.1-0.4mm.
Two, fatigue spalling
If the radial clearance between the cross shaft and the bearing gradually expands due to wear, the load will be concentrated, and the place where the load is relatively large will produce fatigue indentation and eventually fatigue spalling.
Three, lack of oil ablation
If the lubrication is not in place or the lubrication is insufficient or the bearing seal is poor, it will lead to the loss of oil in the bearing or the aging and cracking of the sealing material. If there is no lubricating oil, the temperature of the cross-shaft universal shaft will be too high in use, which will cause the bearing and journal to bite and damage the needle roller and sealing parts, and finally cause the surface of the ring to be ablated.
4. Needle roller or gasket failure
If the needle roller surface is pitted or the needle roller is broken then the needle roller will fail. The failure of the gasket is mainly because the gasket is broken or the gasket is worn. These are related to the size and structure of the bearing gasket, so it should be designed reasonably. The material of gasket should be selected with relatively high strength and wear resistance to avoid this phenomenon.
